The new work entitled Stalker/Zone (SZ, LP – 100 numbered copies, out in December 2023) is a sort of experimental “psychological soundtrack” for the film Stalker (1979) by Andrej Tarkovskij. This project was conceived to offer an in-depth musical interpretation of the film, going beyond the rules of traditional soundtracks; starting from the analysis of actions, behaviour, feelings and fleeting thoughts of the three main characters, the resulting work is made up of notes and sounds which, instead of simply accompanying the images, are a profound interpretation of them and of the psychology of the three protagonists, as well as of the philosophical connotations hidden in Tarkovskij’s masterpiece. |

Entrelacs du rêve respects the already tested many-sided combination of poetry, graphics and music. The result is a unitary work, the two parts of which reflect in one another in relation to its subject: before the issue of this CD, a book with a homonymous title has been published, though in Italian, Intrecci del sogno (available at several stores as lafeltrinelli.it and amazon.it, also in e-book format). In this work four musical counterpart, each one having a different form of composition, have been linked to each dream: the aim is to ensuring some varied visions and multi-sided interpretations of the two dreams. |

Finally out after a long waiting, Phalène d’onyx appears as an extraordinary trip towards the salvation through love. This conceptual work is based on fifteen poems that, following several methods, have been the starting point for the making of the musical compositions. The luxurious 20-page booklet contains, next to the poems, some pictures related to the most relevant compositions, with the purpose that this trip of the soul towards salvation can get more and more astonishing. |

L’Art et la Mort is a work full of avant-garde accents and its title is taken from one of the minor works from Antonin Artaud, in recalling some favourite topics of the theorist of the theatre of cruelty and, more in general, of the avant-garde. More specifically, it is a project of “musical cubism”, where a few tracks of the 80s are de-structured and shredded as puzzle pieces, and then further reassembled in such an amazing way that the compositions can get a brand-new life.

A real theatre-music opus, Sturm is composed of a musical part and the connected theatrical script of which this CD – issued in 2002 – stands for the music for the play. This work is enriched by the special participation of Steven Brown, the historical leader of Tuxedomoon, here giving a new interpretation of himself in a fully revised cover-version of Some Guys, the track that Wim Wenders decided to include in the soundtrack of his masterpiece Wings of desire (1987).

The second conceptual work, Né l’être… éternel is composed – as hinted by its title – of two distinct parts: after four impressionist tableaux, written for voice, cello and piano, here is in fact the symphonic composition in four movements titled Eternel. The aim of this conceptual work is the pursuit of a symbiotic relation with the eternal and unchangeable Nature, that is able to show us, refracted within our inner world, the vision of infinity, and of its symbol of continuity.

The debut-album from Autunna et sa Rose, Sous la robe bleue is a concept work that originated from a few writings, all of them produced before the birth of the music project. It tells about the psychodrama of a young woman – who is represented by several female characters – desperately searching for love and ready to die to achieve this purpose. All is shown under “the blue dress“, that tiny naive sky lying as a background in fairytales… |
